LCCG hosts annual cake sales in our community, not only to raise some funds, but to share awareness and support.
We live in a diverse community and to many it may seem like selling cakes brings in very little money to manage our organisation, but to us, it is a platform of including the very lowest income groups in our community to feel like their contribution is equally valuable to us.
School kids and community members are encouraged to make large and small contributions, by providing us with every type of sweet and savoury delicacy to sell to the public, or they can provide us with cash donations too.
By our volunteers taking to the street, we are there to remind people about the disease, we are providing a platform for them to get more information and to step forward and seek help.
Through our cakes sales we actually attract more patients to be a part of our group.
Contact us if you would like to know when we will be hosting a cakes sale so you can support our initiative.
Schools are more than welcome to host your own cakes sales at your convenience to encourage awareness and support of our organisation in your community.
Lavender Week (25 October - 31 October)
Our organisation is representative of all types of cancers, which our diverse group of patients (community members) suffer from. If you view our logo, note the different colour ribbons which symbolise different cancers, Laudium Cancer Care (LCCG) is identifiable with the lavender ribbon to encourage awareness of all cancers.
In an attempt to spread acknowledgement of the patients that are fighting their battle with cancer and the loved ones who have passed on, join us in spreading a touch of lavender throughout our community for a week with the help of all students and teachers, all corporates, small businesses, vendors, entrepreneurs etc.
For just R10, you can purchase a lavender ribbon for all your staff or students from our organisation and pledge to wear it the entire week for the last week of October, wear it all month if you wish, but show your support in aid of our plight.
Contact us for further information, should your school or business wish to participate.
